FFXI Update Details (3/10/08)

Bleh, no RDM changes. :(

Cool SAM change tho, so that'll be cool. The SCH changes don't appear to be "upgrades", but simply fixes to make the job truly as powerful as it SHOULD have been (concept to reality, etc). Maybe I'll end up leveling SCH as a sub for meripo after all.

Past that, ehh, new campaign stuff, but it says new quests, not new missions. Hopefully that's a technicality in whoever wrote up that script.

As far as downloading--"Network is busy..." is all I'm getting while trying to update the POL Viewer (initial login). :(
 
Beats my 4 hours here... and I've got Fiber Optic. The files go fast. I just have 5min between each file while the server gets slammed with everyone else trying to d/l it.
 
I'd rather that.. instead, I'm stuck next to the computer, constantly clicking Retry until it takes hold.

There is speculation that the haste cap change is for the better rather than the worse. I highly doubt it... but i'm doing a couple hundred hail mary's while i wait 4 hours for my update to go through.
 
Pit you need to stop catching up then nerfs will stop :)
 
It looks like the new THF ability shares it's timer with Accomplice, but can be recast every minute instead.

You can chain Collaberation every min for 25% or pop a 50% steal with Accomplice and have it down for 5 min.
 
lolol Someone on BG translated the haste adjustment details in the german version and is clearly says, "Die akkumulierbare Obergrenze für den Effekt „Hast“, hervorgerufen durch Magie, Items bzw. Job-Fähigkeiten, wurde erhöht."

Which translates to (thank you babblefish)

The accumulatable upper limit for the effect "haste", caused by magic, Items and/or job abilities, was increased.

Have 2-3 tabs going of wiki, BG, and KI going and saw this. Here's to hoping this is true.
 
I only posted speculation that other people posted. I can provide you a link to where that person posted about the haste cap increasing so you can tell him he was wrong if you want. I am still a sad panda though.
 
Yeah it needs much more testing.

There is a person on BG who worked out all the haste stuff before. Waiting for them to post with the details.

its gradually got longer for me. goes for a few mins then rolls back 15 secs. so 4 hours has turned into 6 hour update!!!

Testing on BG shows the new maximum haste cap to be 80%, apparently it used to be 93% or so.

Apparently this completely screws over RC Zerg build, only able to deal a measly 7-9k damage in 30s with ideal gear.

I wouldn't go QQ'ing too much.
