Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, Ul'dah, Ishgard, Ala Mhigo, and Sharlayan all worship the Twelve. But within recent times, the player character is known for having defeated Primals multiple times, defeating Gaius and his Ultima Weapon to save Eorzea, befriending good dragons and slaying bad dragons, defeating the corrupt Archbishop of Ishgard and bringing an end to the Dragonsong War, defeating Zenos in the form of a giant legendary dragon and freeing both Ala Mhigo and Doma, going to another world stricken by light and bringing darkness back once again, helping fight the blasphemies in Radz-at-Hahn and Garlemald, defeating the Telophoroi and the elder primal Zodiark, boarding a spaceship to fly to the end of the Universe and defeat the cause of the Final Days, going to Tural to help the current Dawnservants take the throne. And that's not even counting all the stuff from option sidequests like the Raid series and what not.
And yet despite all this, the player character is also known for helping common citizens with whatever troubles they have, regardless of how small and mundane the request might be.
So, why do people even bother praying to the Twelve when there is an actual person that they can see and meet who is far more likely to answer their prayers without actually needing aether, crystals, or sacrifices to do so?
