YoshiP Q&A for New Year’s: Metanarrative theme for next Ultimate, hint at Switch 2 release + more

It’s already the New Year in Japan, and YoshiP’s character turned up in Costa del Sol and answered some questions from players. Here’s a summary:

• Regarding the next Ultimate, Yoshida says the general concept for it is “meta”, as in metanarrative/metafictional elements. (take it as you will, but I saw a Japanese user point out that he choose Pandaemonium server instead of the usual Chocobo for these New Year’s apperances…)
• There are plans for customisation options for character animations
• On large aquariums, he says its possible for this to be implemented, he will pass on the request to the housing team.
• Another person requested a Cockatiel minion and he said this can be implemented too. He will make a note of requests for more Nier mounts aswell.
• YoshiP’s favourite Arcadion music: He says ofcourse its Everything Burns, but he also likes M10 and M7’s music.
• Japan Fanfest tickets will be on sale soon.
• He says the team are considering adding more gil sinks to the game, but too many of them creates too large a gap for new players, so they’re looking at different options.
• Work is progressing well on Beastmaster, he says details will be in the Live Letter, wait just a bit longer.
• The Cloud hairstyle will be added for Viera
• Namazu body glam is also planned.
• Plans for an equipment design contest
• On raising the buff limit: Yoshida acknowledges the problem and says this is especially a problem in open-zone content. The team are looking at countermeasures and will update further.
• Increase in number of glamour slots is planned for after the housing update.
• Yoshida hints there are plans in place for updates to character creation, including skin and skin colour.
• Devs are considering updates to the dye system (this was in response to someone asking about a way to bulk-store dyes)
• “Please look forward to the Switch version”.

(I think this is the first time a Switch[2] release has been sort of confirmed?)
