Ive always heard about how amazing this mmo is and how great the story is and that its one of the best mmos of all time. MMOs have always scared me a bit because of how grindy they can be sometimes (I played BDO for a while) and because I largely play solo since most of my friends stick with the same three or four games and don't really tend to play other stuff.
I finally decided to try out the free trial, even though I knew ARR was the worst content the game had to offer. But I figured it would be worth it if the story got as good as I heard it did. Finally beat base ARR today after about a week and yeah im hooked. The MSQ wasn't even all that good which was expected but I strangely found myself wanting to keep going. I was looking forward to trying machinist cause I like ranged dps classes typically... only to discover I can't get it unlocked until I get to heavensward, which means 80 more quest steps that I never even knew existed before lmao. Oh well, an unfortunate surprise but I can deal with it.
Overall, I see the hype. It isnt popping off like crazy yet and Im looking forward to shadowbringers but so far I can see the potential of the world in this game. I found out I apparently gotta do three 24 person raids before heavensward so if anyone knows some chill beginner friendly discord groups or something where people play this game lemme kno. I'm not a super hardcore mmo player and this is the first mmo that Ive really gotten into
