Hey everyone! You local Eorzean paint sniffer here, Flash Galatine!
I have updated the XIV Dye Tools with a fresh new UI and some amazing changes to improve the overall user experience.
You can check it out here:
(if you bookmarked the old URL, it'll simply redirect to the new URL)
The UI!
If you used this before, then you'll notice that the UI has changed.
- Dye Selection is on the right-side drawer
- Harmony, Mixer, and Gradient tools also support inputting custom HEX colors!
- Tool options are on the left-side drawer
- Dye results are displayed on unified cards throughout the entire app for consistency.
New and Revised Tools!
- The Gradient Builder (this was called "Dye Mixer" in the previous version)
- Tool renamed to fit its intended function.
- Select two dyes and view the intermediate colors between them.
- Supports Color Spaces: OKLCH (recommended), HSV, LAB, LCH, RGB
- The Palette Extractor (previous called "Color Matcher")
- Load an image and suggest dyes based on commonly used colors.
- Click-and-drag to draw a box on the image to extract only specific portions of it.
- The NEW Dye Mixer
- Mix 2 or 3 dyes together to get a new dye!
- Supports Mixing Methods: Spectral (Kubelka-Munk), RYB (Gossett-Chen), OKLAB, LAB, HSL, RGB
- The Swatch Matcher
- Select a color from the color sheet and find matching dyes for that color.
- These color sheets match the colors used for character creation and using the Aesthetician's services.
All the other tools function the same way as it did before, just with a fresh coat of dye!
