I have wanted to see Loporrits become playable in Final Fantasy XIV for a long time.
And I don't mean this simply because Loporrits are cute.
They are one of the most distinctive peoples in FFXIV, with their own culture, history, technology and ancient connections. Their story has reached a point where becoming adventurers and choosing their own lives makes perfect sense.
The Loporrits were created with a purpose and a future decided for them. Throughout Endwalker, they discovered that life is more than fulfilling the purpose you were created for. They discovered curiosity, creativity, friendship and individuality, and began asking what they wanted from life.
That makes a Loporrit becoming an adventurer a natural continuation of their story. An adventurer is someone who decides where their life goes next.
But we already have Lalafell. Why another small race?
Loporrits should not be playable simply because FFXIV needs another small character model. They should be playable because being small is not what defines Lalafell.
Lalafell have their own cultures, histories, societies and identity. Loporrits represent something fundamentally different.
They come from the Moon. They are connected to the Ancients, the Final Days and the effort to preserve life for the future. Their civilization developed in isolation, with customs and technology unlike those of Etheirys.
The value is not another body type.
It is another perspective.
FFXIV already has several tall humanoid peoples, yet they coexist because they represent different cultures and fantasies. Lalafell and Loporrits should be no different.
A Loporrit adventurer could experience Etheirys with genuine curiosity. Its cities and traditions could be completely new to them. They would not need to copy the Loporrits we know; they could choose their own path.
They also offer something Lalafell cannot: a direct connection to the Moon and the ancient past.
Visually, they would occupy a completely different space. Fur, large ears and an animal-like silhouette would give players an identity Lalafell cannot provide.
Why I will keep talking about this
A single forum thread can disappear within days. That does not mean an idea has no support.
This is not about spamming the developers. It is about making sustained player interest visible.
If this reaches the development team, I want them to see more than "Loporrits are cute." I want them to see players discussing their lore, identity, place alongside Lalafell and potential as adventurers.
If players genuinely want playable Loporrits, we need to make that interest visible.
I intend to keep bringing up different aspects of the idea and giving people something new to discuss. Not because one post should force a decision, but because ideas are harder to overlook when the community keeps talking about them.
