With the recently added Yozakura's Attire in FFXIV Store from 3 year old Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeon while there is a constant complaint about the lack of rewards in this type content and recent fumble of Merchant' Tale reward structure and/or quantity on an a monthly subscription based game it should be a slap on the face to customers that want to financially support the game.
While personally I dislike the normalization of paid cosmetical items in a paid game, I can tolerate Mogstation if they are creating unique never to be seen ingame items examples:
- Fat cat attire
- KFC emote
- Collector's Edition items
It is normal for every business to expand the avenues of profit, but I find unfair off something shown ingame and inaccessible for a long time as a reward [a costume, a hairstyle, an npc gesture, a potential mount] only for much later being added as a lazy attempt of artificially increase the amount of store items, and with the recent addition tied to a Variant Dungeon [btw the Attire is advertised something originated from Mount Rokkon] that the main point of discussion around this content is the lack of/mismanagement of rewards.
This is not a Free to Play game, we pay a subscription maybe even multiple types of subscriptions, we pay regularly for new expansions, and if you want to us to pay more on top of that, Mogstation/FFXIV store should focus on making UNIQUE digital cosmetics ONLY seen in Mogstation and mostly[seasonal events] what we as player see ingame, should be obtain as reward INGAME.
