Hey, everyone! I wanted to come on here & give a quick thanks to you guys. This community has been so welcoming to me that I felt the need to make this update post. I recently posted on here about wanting to surprise my GF by getting everything set up & joining her in the game. I also wanted to be able to maneuver through the menus without being a bumbling fool.
I really wasn't sure of what to expect since I have never played an MMO, but so many of you were so incredibly kind to me & helped me get everything set up in time to surprise her for when she came home. Several people from this sub have messaged me & offered guidance since learning the UI can be a headache for someone who's new. I really don't know if I would've been able to get to grips with it so quickly in time to surprise her if it weren't for you guys.
But anyway, she was extremely emotional & thrilled that I had everything waiting for when she walked in the door. We had a complete blast, & we've made several new friends from this community alone. We've been staying up all night over the last couple of nights playing, & it's opened my eyes completely to MMO's. I can't believe that I've missed out on them for my entire life. I'm also shocked that the story & writing is so good. I'm convinced already that this is a banger narrative & she keeps saying how I haven't even seen peak yet.
I plan to drain as much as I can out of the free trial, & then buy the full game. I really hope XIV continues to get supported for many years to come because it has one of the best communities that I've ever experienced. You guys are amazing. Much love & respect to everyone who commented on my OP or messaged me to help out.
