Thoughts On Beastmaster After Finishing 5/5 Third Degree

I beat all of the boards on third degree, and since they delayed ranked I've had time to think about the class in general. And I gotta say, I really really like the class and the Crucible. I love the whole experience of the class. I love the quests, I love the aesthetic. I love capturing the beasts, and I really love the crucible. I know it's pretty hard, but as with most things, that difficulty will be mitigated when guides come out to trivialize the non third degree runs, which I think is where most casual players will find their QoL and pain points improved.

Third degree is another story. Many players will run into third degree and have major issues and distaste for, I am not one of them. I love the difficulty and the RNG. I love that I cannot guarantee a clear on the master boards each run, even though I have the skill to beat them. Many will see this as a weakness, I do not. Third degree offers several problems that must be solved as you're going through. First, how to win each fight and which Beasts to use across all of them, which leads to planning which path to take. Then, we have the RNG of what drops, what items you can buy, and capitalizing and adjusting to that RNG. Because you can have the best RNG in the game, but if you haven't done the fights enough, a simple mistake can end the run. I REALLY like the difficulty, which is definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

Third degrees biggest problem comes from the ranking system. Which, I don't really have a problem with. The mount is given to the top 300 people on each datacenter. Which as it is understood right now, is Japan, Oceanic, North America, and Europe. And A lot of people have major issues with this, but I don't. There are a couple reasons for this, first I really don't mind status symbol items. It's something to strive for. I don't want to get caught up on that though, because it's a preference. What I do want to talk about is the number, 300, or 1200 per season. And what I think most people don't understand is, that's a lot of mounts. The Crucible third degree is hard sure, but as far as I know, you just need a score to get into the ranking, not to complete it. While it looks like completing it means that you're basically guaranteed to get it, it's not necessary. And you might think 1200 per season isn't that many, but to that I point to the hunt mounts. The DT hunt mount achievement is sitting at about 3500 people who've obtained it. That's a mount that takes around 6 months to get. In those 6 months there could be 2400 golems handed out. I just don't think the golem will be as exclusive of a mount as people think for very long, unless it's gatekept, which could happen.

So these are the things I love, but lets talk about what I dislike, because there are really only two things I had distaste for. I hated levelling beasts, and I wish we could do raids. I may have been able to complete all boards on third degree, but I barley levelled any more beasts than necessary. I finished all third degree with only 21 beasts at rank 25, and I honestly don't know if I'll go back to level the rest because it's so tedious. Besides that, I just wish there was some way we could do Raids. I think that we need tank provoke outside of crucible or something so we can start running full BST raids.

But those are my thoughts on BST. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the class and the crucible. And I suppose, if you have any questions about third degree in general I can answer those too.
