Infact a lot of the discourse we have now regarding Wuk is very similar to discourse we had back in the day regarding Alphinaud.
People absolutely did not like Alphinaud because of how he was as a character and they sure as heck didn't like when we had to go along with him during the crystal brave arc. Especially before they trimmed that section down. He was a stuck up know it all who thought he knew what was best for everyone. But he grew out of that
I know because I was one of them, heck he didn't even grow on me in heavensward, that came later and now I do like his character and am glad that he came along way in his journey.
My point is, Wuk is disliked by a lot but even though she did grow as a character in the story, I think she needs more time. Alphinaud had a lot of time to grow and there's a bunch of love for the guy, meanwhile wuk just got introduced.
I'm sold on the character so I hope she sticks around, devs do not shelve that character, give her more time to breathe. Yes she had the focus of the expansion, and heck even if she didn't, and another character became the focus of another expansion, I'm sure that character would get hate. Look at Zero for example.
We're still at the early stages of Wuk's journey, she can get better, she can get worse we don't know because we haven't seen it yet
