Hey all! I’m a newly-returning player. I played a very unhealthy amount for around a month last year when I first found the game, then wanted to take a bit off because I was playing way too much, and just now got around to hopping back in.
In that time, I got the new steam controller. I’m currently away from home and I’ve been playing on my laptop with the steam controller, and it truly feels like it was designed for this game specifically. Setting up your cross hotbars for combat on controller has always been great. I used to play on controller a lot because I’d grind mindless stuff in bed on my Steam deck before I fell asleep, and that has the same benefits this has.
Combat is great on controller, but normally menu navigation is pretty finicky. That’s not the case when you have a trackpad. Not to mention the extra back buttons and it just generally being a good controller. It truly feels like the best of both worlds and I may just stick to playing on Steam controller once I’m back home, especially since evolved controls are coming next year and they’ll be even better for controller layouts!
