I just last night caught up with the Dawntrail patches and man, I had a blast with them. While by the end of 7.0 I was kinda meh on the expansion and feeling burnt out, now that I'm caught all the way up I'm mad that I dont have more story (msq) to do.
I think honestly what burnt me out originally was that weird gap in Dawntrail between the rite of succession in Tural and Alexandria, as well as (beating a dead horse) Wuk Lamat and Khona kinda over staying their welcome and Zoraal Ja just being the most unthreatening and uninteresting villain.
But actual Sphenes story is great imo. I really come to love Oblivion despite me just kinda thinking they were backround npcs at first. Geode's death hits way harder than I expected it would. Wuk Lamat and Khona's growth during the rite of succession is also a highlight to me. I actually really enjoyed her fight with Bakool Ja Ja and I love that he has a little redemption arc as well. And obviously the combat parts are just fantastic. Doomtrail was such a random and fun trial.
Theres more I could gush about but I just felt like sharing my post msq thoughts.
