First off, I just wanted to say thank you to all the amazing Mentors I’ve ran into so far on Famfrit. I’ve never had an MMO experience like XIV and it’s simply warming my heart. The fact that the game tries its best to foster positive player relationships with new players and seasoned ones is really awesome and I find resources like Novice Network to be nice (if a bit overwhelming at times). Just thank you for making the experience fun even if typing on the Nintendo switch 2’s touch screen is a tad atrocious.
The one thing I did have a question or seeking advice on about was for crafting. Coming from Guild Wars and LOTRO, I’ve always loved being the guild crafter or the person that just focuses on crafting everything. As the free trail does present market restrictions and such, would my time better spent focusing on my starting class, Thaumaturge for my crafting itch? I’ve seen people talking about just leveling ALL gathering and crafting jobs, but in truth it seems almost daunting. As I am very used to in other games using the market to generally bulk buy resources I’m not geared towards gathering. But again the market restriction means i probably have to suck it up, short of just going ahead and subbing. But I feel that it would be silly to sub just for getting market access alone. Especially with the breath of content that the free trail does provide with its content up to shadow. Was there anyone in a similar situation and if so did you just bear with it and do all all the leveling or did you sub for the reason of getting access to the market to make focusing on a few crafting jobs easier?
