I’d love to suggest streaming Fan Festival keynotes and major panels directly in-game (but not at the cost of any development time on other parts of the game, of course)
For example, players could gather in locations like Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Gridania or other large venues to watch the stream together in real time.
This would:
Create a shared community experience for players who cannot attend in person
Bring life to in-game spaces during major announcements
Strengthen the connection between in-game events and real-world Fan Festival content
Even a limited implementation (such as a one-time keynote stream) would be incredibly memorable and appreciated by the community.
I realize a truly embedded livestream inside the game client may not be realistic due to technical, licensing, and server limitations. A more feasible version could be an official in-game watch party space, where players gather at venues like Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre while the actual video stream remains on YouTube or Twitch. The game could support this with event decorations, NPCs, system announcements, official stream links, timed reveals, music, and celebratory effects, so players still feel like they're watching Fan Festival together in-game. Maybe people who are more familiar with this kind of thing can chime in, thoughts?
