Hey everyone! This thread is just a collection of random ideas and thoughts I had about how we could make the game world feel a bit more alive, dynamic, and immersive.

Don't get me wrong—I love Eorzea, but sometimes it feels a little too safe. Here are a few ways I think the devs could let us interact with the environment more, even if it means letting us make terrible life choices.

1. Let Us Fall (And Die) Like Nature IntendedThe

Falling from a sky-high cliff in Ultima Thule leaves me sitting comfortably at 1.

Turns out my ankles are the strongest material in the known universe.

2. Sky Boundaries: Why Can’t I Dismount and Free-Fall?

Pressing dismount while mid-air currently does... absolutely nothing.

My mount refuses to abandon me in the stratosphere.

Let me dismount in the sky and plummet to my doom! Imagine the dramatic entrances you could make into areas if you could just HALO-jump out of the sky on command.

3. Seamless Sky TransitionsThe

Flying to the edge of a map sends you slamming into a giant invisible wall, forcing you to land or find a grounded exit path.

Enable map transition lines in the sky! I don't necessarily expect a fully seamless, loading-screen-free world, but letting us fly straight into the loading zone for the next region while remaining in the air would feel so much better than being grounded every time.

4. Solid Flying Objects (Tangible Clouds & Airships)

Phasing right through airships, floating rocks, or structure elements while flying ruins the illusion of a solid world.

Make flying objects actual physical assets! Give them collision boxes so we can land on them, crash into them, or use them as impromptu hangout spots in the clouds.

5. Tear Down the Invisible Walls & Extend Zone Boundaries

Map barriers are often surprisingly tight, cutting off cool-looking terrain, deep ocean trenches, or distant landscapes.

Reduce the number of invisible walls and push the world barriers further out. Let us swim deeper underwater or fly further into the horizon—even if there are no quests or NPCs out there! Just let us explore the emptiness.
