Let's use DRG helm (of all things) as an example...

When Codec won, it pissed some people off. There was nothing wrong with him winning imo, as it fit the rules of the time, but there were people that were upset about. I got a few tells along the lines of 'he never plays drg, that should be yours' etc. I played them all off diplomatically but whether I had issues with it or not, there was some drama. This is over DRG AF of all things.

Regardless, a change like this probably wouldn't have changed the situation with that anyway. We have 7 players that have DRG at 75 all in all. While most have numerous jobs at 75, I think at least 4 or 5 of them would have DRG as one of the two commented jobs anyway. Three DRGs have the piece (Zeo, Em, Codec). Three are in the top point tier @ have the job at 75 (me, Jack, Jo). Arch has DRG at 75 but I don't know if he has the helm or not. Of all of them, Codec and Joanna would probably be the only two to not list DRG as one of their two main jobs.

Looking at that example, this change would have a varied impact. In the end though, loldrg aside, I think this would do well to filter some of the most popular AF (ie: RDM, BLM) to people that need it.
 
I could go either way with only commenting 2 jobs to lot. It forces people to decide rather than go oh that AF dropped 1st I can use it, so I'll lot it. You might also see a little influx in total points for some characters because of this though.

I totally see the above as the complete opposite. I don't see it filtering the most popular AF to people that need it. I see it as being the opposite. People will be commenting the 2 most popular AF they can wear thus filtering the least popular AF pieces to those that could use it and commented it or down to 2pts wearable anyone. If 20 people have RDM, THF, and DRG leveled, I'm pretty confident 20 people are gonna comment RDM and THF, and leave DRG out of their lotting comment.
 
True, but someone with BLM, RDM and SMN that goes as SMN typically would probably prioritize that one over either of the others. Honestly though we can come up with examples on all sides of it. lol
 
A lot of people might comment a less popular job if they enjoy it more and, more importantly, there are significantly less people lotting it. If there's 8 people lotting RDM and nobody lotting DRK, even though the DRK piece is crap I could see someone commenting DRK just so they have better than a 1/9 chance of actually getting some AF in the run, especially if they play DRK significantly more than RDM.
 
i dont think they would. I would comment a better piece rather than have better odds lol
 
Really doesn't effect me, since everyone pretty much knows what I lot -- but I get a lil testy about people who complain about multiple 75 jobs. Anyone who knows me knows I like my monk, i put a lot of gil and work into it, and its one of my favorite jobs to play. I like my blm too, but in almost any endgame situation, I'm probably gonna be blm. It'd be pretty silly of me to demand to come as mnk to stuff (I wouldn't want to in dynamis anyway, melee lag blows).
That doesn't mean that I shouldn't get to lot mnk af2, or that I should let it go to someone who doesn't have a mage job at 75.

Anyway, I suppose it'd be easier for people coming to a run to judge how much competition they have, but i dun think it'd change much.

you sorta missed my point, I never really paid attention to what jobs he plays. I was just saying it seemed to annoying other people. I was fine with him winning, one less person in the tier.

I think there'd be a healthy chunk of people in both groups. Were I in that situation, it would depend mostly on what jobs I play more than anything else.
 
eh really even as is people go for very few pieces they just get mad when they lose smn or blm or w/e the hell it is to someone thats forced to dynamis on a specific job as some of us are required to always be a specific job

I have never seen you go emo over anything ever in my time of playing Eticket. Sorry it came accorss that way =)

If i had to choose 2 AF2 to pick it would be RDM and BLM for sure. Less contended items usually drops in points anyways or go freelot.
 
Wasnt my initial reaction but the change to list 2 jobs each run is a good idea.

I didnt like that example Eticket about people being unhappy I had won the wyrm armet because I rarely use dragoon for dynamis. Sometimes I ask Garret what jobs he needs otherwise I'll normally turn up blm these days & change if required, thats the true benefit of having multiple jobs not the fact you can lot on more relics that drop.

Dragoon was my first 75, I have choosen ethereal earring & rajas for my drg despite having blm whm rdm brd leveled. My first & only 75 ancient coins purchase has been brutal earring, I've upgraded 2 drg pieces to af+1 with more to come, took me 6 months to finish my ws gorget. Every time I've gone with a dynamis group where you had to list 1or2 relics to lot I've choosen drg. As such I'm now 5/5 drg with only 5 other relics combined for my other 4x75s.

I earnt the right to lot, & honestly its my ridill, nothing more I've ever wanted or will ever want greater then the wyrm armet this I will gaurantee.

I've done it much harder then most having leveled drg pre 2hr update in Japan primetimes due to me being Australian, I went 3 weeks once without an invite & was reduced to leveling on weekends or soloing.

I'm bitter as hell but I love drg as much as anyone who's leveled the job, it's become a solo job for me now because of player mentality. However I will come to future runs as drg if the group wishes.

Sorry if I went on too long but I've run with Dx quite awhile & enjoy the ls but to have people think I dont derserve it simply because I'm stun locking DL as rdm/drk, raise3'ing ppl with my whm or sleeping links & keeping statues at bay as blm is really really lame.
 
I don't see why you wouldn't deserve it, most people would prefer coming as their melee jobs but I've come to the determination that x40 Mnk does not a stable Dynamis make. But I think ET was using it to demonstrate that you do.
 
Codec.. I completely agree. Jobs are situational. No one outside the player and maybe their ls, knows what jobs someone puts time into or really cares about. That's why I laughed off anyone that had an issue with you winning. Lord knows any DRG who made it to 75 deserves Relic.

I just brought it up since some people got all whiny about it. I actually think this proposal would help people with multiple jobs avoid drama being thrown at them. I don't think anyone should have to justify what gear they lot if they are eligible for it, but unfortunately as gear-centric as people are...

I assume Byxfluzba was the person or atleast one of the people telling Eticket I didnt deserve it as I received alot of abuse from him in tells. He apoligised the next night & I just found it amusing anyways so no big deal.

Alot of my post was to show Eticket that drg is my #1 priority, so that he can rest assured knowing it didnt go to someone who wont appreciate it. I hope you get another chance at it soon matey.

Back on topic,
Each person that has multiple jobs knows whats available at each dynamis & hopefully they know the better pieces to obtain first.

For example, the Jeuno run where like 2 rdm & 4 blm dropped I never lotted those pieces because I wanted a chance at whm which I got & lost.

Fair enough I do have 5 jobs leveled but I only make the same points as somebody with one job so I already have certain self implied restrictions as to what I can & cannot lot each run. I dont want rubbish relic pieces just as a trophy when my points can be spent on fulltime/macro pieces atleast.

So impose a lot2 win1 rule & things wont change for me, most zones I know the one item I want & thats the item I lot on. I have to assume some people do the same too meaning its not a big deal to the thoughtful players who are already selective with their point spending.

I'm for the change, let the rubbish relics go to people with just that job leveled or to people that need it for storage purposes. It'll make it easier for everyone in the end, especially when we want the rubbish relics ourselves.
 
What's hilarious is after Eticket & maybe one other person win Drg AF2 head I predict it going from 16 points to free lot, lol.
 
eh i don't think 15 jobs lottable or 2 jobs lottable will change ANYTHING people enter with several predetermined pieces they want lotting for all jobs consecutively would kill everyones inventory as is
 
2 jobs would be cool. 75% of ppl would be RDM + NIN allowing the other 25% of the attendees to have a decent shot of getting AF2 for their other jobs.
 
I was going to put this up for vote, but I haven't really seen people screaming that this would be a horrible idea, so going to implement this for June runes as well.
