I had a lot of fun with Dawntrail, but on a replay of it in NG+ I'm still more than a little bothered by the Scions' part in this trial.
We're encouraging a race nearly identical to the Vanu (who have a history of primal summoning) to use what Alphinaud describes as "an arcane focus" to direct all their prayers and aether into an idol of their god.
This is virtually identical to creating an environment for primal summoning, something that stopping has been a core mission of the Scions as an order for every expansion prior.
I just don't know why the Warrior of Light or the Scions would be so immediately OK with this plan and willing to assist with repairing a focus that plainly could be used to invoke a primal summoning.
