One thing that seems to be true to me, is that whenever we travel between Shards, we end up somewhat neat where we started travelling on the Source.
When we went to the First, we used a device in Mor Dhona, and landed in Lakeland, which is the First's Mor Dhona.
When we went to the Thirteenth, we travelled from the Moon towards the Thirteenth's Moon.
But now with the Fourth, if the surface of the world is indeed covered in ice... well we can't very well travelled from Mor Dhona again or we'll end up in the middle of Siberia.
So my theory is that in 7.56, we'll do an actual first foray into the Fourth, where we'll land in a deadly place, and probably meet briefly a character that will be essential to 8.0, learn roughly where in the sky the people have fled to, and then at the start of 8.0, travel from there in the Source (maybe the Churning Mists ?).
Or alternatively, since Calyx told us they fled to the sky, we're gonna try from a sky island directly ?
