they're both named seto, although their stories are fairly different:
one is a warrior turned to stone who is implied to still be semi-aware of his surroundings based on the tear shed when he's reunited with his son.
and the other is the immortal steed & companion turned sapient retiree who lives out his days longing to be reunited with his human master.
usually, it feels like when the XIV devs name characters with references to earlier games, it's much clearer that they're meant to be analogous, a reference, or otherwise related to that earlier game character. see: that one hojo NPC who is pretty blatantly a mad scientist referencing... hojo.
