 | I always wanted to play on a JP server but the language barrier kept me away. Eventually I just said screw it and coded myself a little overlay that translates the chat in real time. Basically it's a small transparent window that sits on top of the game. When someone writes in Japanese in any chat channel (say, party, tells, FC, whatever), it picks it up, using ACT parsing, and shows me the translation. And when I want to reply, I just type in my language and it sends the Japanese version directly into the game chat. The cool part is I can choose the tone, like casual, polite, or formal Japanese, so I don't accidentally sound weird (i can do it intentionnally lol ). It also tells me what tone the other person is using so I can match. Whispers show up in a different color so I don't miss them. There's also an OCR mode where I can screenshot any part of the screen and it reads the Japanese text (useful for stuff that's not in chat), and I recently added voice input so I can just talk instead of typing. Honestly it changed the game for me. I've been able to actually make friends, have real conversations, and I even joined a lovely free company. Went from feeling completely lost to actually being part of a community.
