I wanna prefix my question by explaining who and where I am.
Right now I'm a level 27 conjurer, I am playing FFXIV fully blind for the first time ever, I started the game yesterday (I bought the full game with all expansions).
I've went into this game with the intention of role-playing my character 100%, no online guides, no meta builds, just intuition.
Yesterday I played through my first 3 dungeons and they were a complete blur, everyone ran off suddenly, there was some loot and a boss but it all went by so quickly I had no time to grasp anything.
So I played the dungeons again with NPCs to get a grasp of how it all actually works, and I understand it now.
I completely understand why people rush through the dungeons, most people must have played through them a 100 times already, I even heard you get a reward for being fast.
But what I really dream of is going to the local city, talk to strangers, recruit a team of heroes and approach the dungeon together. I want to talk to the other players as we go along, roleplay, discuss strategy, and exchange compliments. I want to immerse myself in the story and the fighting and make an adventure out of it. I imagine role-playing with the duty finder is generally frowned upon, I don't want to waste anyone's time.
But if I want to fulfill my dream of turning every adventure into a movie, where should I go? I don't want to annoy anyone, I'm still trying to understand the culture. Thank you in advance!
