Proposal to Fix Shell FC Housing Exploit (Account-Wide "Main Character" Tag)

Dear SE and fellow housing enjoyers,

The housing market in FFXIV continues to be heavily exploited by so-called "Shell FCs". Players use multiple alts on a single account to circumvent the "one FC plot per account" rule. This has already created a serious shortage of houses on certain servers and turned wards into ghost towns. To fix this loophole, I would like to propose the following system for a future 8.x update. This proposal exclusively affects FC houses and FC lottery bids, not private housing.

1. Account-Wide "Main Character" Designation
Upon logging into the character selection screen after the update, players must designate one character on their Service Account as their "Main Character". Changing this designation will be locked behind a strict CD (e.g., 45 days, matching the auto-demolition timer).

2. FC House Ownership Tied to Main Character Only
Only the designated Main Character has the right to hold leadership/ownership of an FC that owns a house. Means: if an account currently owns multiple FC houses via alts, "Main" tag is an option to choose which one player want to left. The other plots will enter the standard auto-demolition phase unless leadership is transferred to another player with Main tag. (after any house reclamation both players Main tag reset blocked on 45+ days)

3. Lottery Bidding Restricted to Main Characters
Only "Main" character can place the "FC bid" on a plot (FC/unrestricted). This prevents a single player from placing 8+ bids on the same plot using their alts within one subscription. Alts will be completely ineligible to bid on or purchase FC plots to ensure fairness.

4. Maintenance, Relocation, and Leader Absence
- Timer: Active members (including alts) can still enter the house to reset the auto-demolition timer.
- Relocation Bidding: Only members whose characters are designated as "Main" on their respective accounts can place a bid to relocate the FC house.
- Relocation Approval: The relocation must be finalized by the FC Master, the plot registration remains strictly tied to the current FC Master's Service Account.
- Master Absence: In cases where the leader has stopped playing, the FC plot registration will remain tied to the original account until leadership changes. The process for changing leadership can either utilize the current automated system (triggered after a period of inactivity) or be initiated by submitting a support ticket, ensuring the new leader's character is also designated as a "Main".

Summary of Impact:
This change should not harm legitimate FC's, as their active members can use their Main characters to reclaim the rights. However, a strict "1 Sub = 1 FC House" rule should make mass-hoarding of Shell FC financially non-viable.

Thank you for your time, I’d be interested to hear other options.
