Please Make The Blacklist Functional

I am uncertain if this came with the changes in 7.0 or just functionally became worse due to errors in 7.2, but what I can say is this.

The Blacklist, as it stands now, is not working.

To clarify, in accordance to the User Agreement there is one thing that the Blacklist does--and I quote--"prevents messages from characters registered to the list from displaying in the chat log window", and that's it.

There's been an impression that it has more functionality, and perhaps at one time it did. But as of present the above statement is about all it does sans providing a one sided veil between oneself and the player which has been placed on the Blacklist.

Mind that Friend List removals are one sided and Roulette match making can still place one in a party with players on the Blacklist, this much is known and a glaring flaw in the system. Through some experimenting and confirmation with some associates of mine as well as finding out abruptly due to its mechanical failures, we've discovered the following:

  • When placing a player on the Blacklist, though you will no longer see their character nor their messages in any of the chats, the Blacklisted player can still see you. This was tested and confirmed when I placed an associate on my Blacklist and could not view them or their messages, but they were still able to target me and view messages I sent in public chats such as /say, /shout, /yell, etc.
  • Players on your Blacklist are still able to find you and see your Online status via search functions in game like Player Search.
  • Players can still engage with you, which includes joining Party Finder listed parties, upon invite from players who do not have them on their respective Blacklist, as well as enter your estates and the like.
  • The Blacklist is applicable to the respective players who sent and received the Blacklist exchange only, and not per Service Account. This was tested and confirmed when an associate was placed upon the Blacklist and I logged into another character to discover that they were still there and we were able to fully engage with one another in every social aspect available. This coincides with the User Agreement, as an example of their Prohibited Behavior is "creating new characters to message someone who has blacklisted you, despite being asked to stop the behavior" implying that this is an available harassment tactic despite eluding to 'account wide' banishment.

As I've discussed with fellow Mentors in game the degradation of the Blacklist has been long standing now and the community at large has been waiting for significant fixes. In the state that the Blacklist is in now it leaves the community unsafe, opens players to harassment, and discourages engagement from the greater player base. Despite my many submitted reports of concern they have gone dismissed with the latest Game Master directing that I submit feedback to the forums as I am now. This is one thread among many beseeching investigation in the Blacklist and I am most likely shouting in the void, but I will do as the GM has suggested to know I've done all in my power.
