We all heavily use Duty Roulette to do content. However, there's a major problem with this system currently. Paying customers rarely, if ever, get to play new content that they paid for, and are still paying for.
When I bought the Dawn Trail expansion, that set me back about $50 USD. The monthly subscription sent me back about another $15 a month. ARR and all those expansions for new players will cost them another $50 on top of Dawn Trail.
$100 to play new content - can't wait to play it! It will be fun seeing this content in our daily roulettes... except we never do. This is a major problem that we are paying customers and we do not get to ever see the new content with duty roulette. The major reason for this is because we often get stuck with free-trial players doing older content. For a year I have never once been in an alliance raid other than Crystal Tower. 1 year. I paid to play the new alliance raids, not Crystal Tower, and to do that I queue up for them using Duty Finder. But I also want to do them in Duty Roulette. I paid for this content, I want to play it.
But what I am noticing is that I am being used to fill parties in Duty Roulette that are made up of free trial players. I am being used to make the free trial players have a great gaming experience - encouraging them to never have to upgrade to the new content. With free trial players being allowed to continue this indefinitely up to level 80, this is a huge problem.
Please give those of us to PAID to play the new content the ability to toggle Duty Roulette to only match us with other players who have paid to play content from Endwalker and beyond. If we want, we can toggle the option to include everyone, including the free trial members, if we feel like doing old content in Duty Roulette. I saw in the path notes this announcement:
Windurst: The Third Walk has been added to Duty Roulette: Alliance Raids.
That's a cruel joke because never once have I ever seen any Alliance Raid using Duty Roulette other than Crystal Tower. This is really starting to wear on me, too, especially now that I'm working on the newest relic, where it FORCES players to use the Duty Roulette system. I paid $100 to you, Square Enix, to play the most recent content, and never once, in an entire year, have I gotten the chance to play it using Duty Roulette.
Duty Roulette is a MAJOR part of our daily playing, and to be deprived of the content we PAID TO PLAY because you force us to match with free trial players who cannot access that content, we never get to play what we PAID to play.
Give players the right to choose whether or not they want to play older content with free trial players when using Duty Roulette. This is not OK to take our money and NOT deliver on the content we paid for.
