Ouch! I just received a brutal reality check in the HW trials and Im not sure if its inexperience, or if Im actually bad at the game.

Hey there! So Ive been playing through the game almost exclusively as a healer (sch, whm,) and so far never had any trouble keeping my party alive.

Well, until today. For context I wrapped up Heavensward last week and I wanted to get the scholar anima before starting Stormblood (did the same for both healer zodiacs before starting HW). Part of that quest line is beating the containment bay trials, which I never did before. The first two went well, but Z1T9 (Zurvan) gave me a lot of trouble. I played SCH and expected a somewhat chill run, but we wiped 3 TIMES, mostly because I didnt manage to keep the party alive during the bosses burst attacks.

For the first time ever I actually panicked (apologized a lot) and one of our dps called me out for my performance aswell. Everyone else defended me which was super wholesome, but still... They werent wrong, I did fuck up big time and that was on normal difficulty. This stings a lot, especially since I always wanted to get into hardcore raids sometime in the future.

I know I shouldnt get this worked up over a single trial, but Im really not sure anymore if healer is the right role for me, because A) apparently Im not even good enough to clear basic non arr trials and B) If I cant manage scholar confidently at lvl60 I imagine it (and probably every job) will be way worse at lvl100.

Thats why Id love to hear your guys opinion on this. Is there any general advice you could give a healer, who struggles this hard at 'normal duties'? Also, will scholar get more difficult with every new expansion? I do play a lot of whm too, but sch has been my main throughout all of HW now.

Finally, I cant praise my party (apart from the dude we kicked) enough. Everyone was super supportive and wholesome, so in the end I did have some fun. Also, this trial was the final step of the relic questline so at least I have a super shiny book now. :)
