Hey there! I'm a new player (played for like 4 days and managed to get to Level 32), and when starting up FFXIV for the first time, I didn't really know what to expect. So far it's been fun, and guides have made it somewhat easier...
That being said, the amount of times I've had several but-wait-there's-more moments while trying to get more Glamour Prisms (I used some to cast glamour instead of putting them in the glamour drawer). So, my journey looked a little like this:
Look up different ways to get glamour prisms
Settle on crafting them myself
Look up most efficient way to craft
Choose carpenter
Level up Carpenter
Realize that I need to harvest walnut logs
Finally level up both botanist and carpenter to the point where I think I can craft Glamour prisms
Realize that I need crystals, not shards
Look up how to get crystals
Decided to fight wind/ice sprites
Managed to get Wind crystals from wind sprites
Managed to get only 1 Ice crystal before having to retreat cause I almost died (I'm a WHM)
I severely underestimated how much work would go into FFXIV, and while that would usually be a complaint for me, I actually like all the options. Unlike other games, it doesn't feel as overwhelming. Still though, I got my work cut out for me.
