I finally got around to reading the second Encyclopedia Eorza, and there is a bit about the Geography of Othard.
The extreme northwest region is called the Dalvalan Grath. It's described as a blinding white tundra, where only a tribe of Xaela hunters lives after abandoning the Azim Steppe eventhough the Steppe has way more resources.
Sounds Evercold-coded to me. I wonder if it could be a sort of connecting point?
