I've been working on building a business lately, and it's been a flurry of market research and networking over coffee and meetings. And one of those meetings was scheduled today at 11:00 AM.
As a reward for the work I've been putting in, I decided to play a bit of FFXIV this morning before heading to the library. And around 9:40 AM I queued up for an alliance raid toward my relic's Aetherwell thinking I could knock out a quick World of Darkness. Instead I got ...The Tower at Paradigm's Breach. This thing was LONG. Long long. We're fighting the final boss where we wipe and have to start over and then learn about phase 2.We finally take them down, I jump out of my chair, and run to the door to leave quickly when I hear "tip........tip......tip...tiptip....tiptiptiptip.....tiptiptiptiptiptiptiptiptiptiptiptip, turn around and there's...water coming out of the recessed lights in my kitchen.
And then there's more water. And more water. And the ceiling is swelling and more water is coming out of other lights in the laundry room next to the kitchen.
Turns out the water pressure to my home was 50% higher than average, and caused the insulation in my water heater (on the second floor of my house) to burst and fail, and the water was gushing out so quickly that it bypassed the drainage system and flooded the second floor down to the first through our electrical fixtures. If I'd left literally 5 minutes earlier, my entire home would have been flooded out with my dog in it.
And so it looks like the next few days of the Aetherwell grind will be cold and/or stinky.
