No comment - No lotting

Even those who come with 7 lvl 75's still won't have that much trouble setting a comment.

I think they're more of a problem then the 'noobs', a lot of the old timers think that what they're lotting is common knowledge or they just think they're above it.

Thankfully I guess..most of those ppl are only working on 1 or 2 sets of AF by now...but still the point is easily enough that setting a comment is easy and if you don't wish to set one, then you either give up your right to lot or don't come. If garret can manage to make up a comment while making parties and what...then no one else has any reason not to be able to make comment.

Except for Sass, who usually forgets due to handling 30 or so different conversations about points while popping back & for between PCs to look at said points ;)

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok now I'm gonna never forget, that's just nasty.

Def, PM me if your points are still not correct. I think I fixed them.

Look fine to me Sass.

Did you find that missing soap run?

Oh my god, you have no idea. You do realize that the list of people the pop in and out of DX is fast approaching 400 people, don't you?

Not to mention that only 60% of those that come to DX can actually check the forums regularly.

Party leads are responsible for this, sacks have enough to deal with already without adding additional stress.

Well you're welcome to take out my information if you want. Anyone who hasn't attended for in the past 2 months should probably be cut off anyways.

If they're going to be inactive, better set some sort of guideline to parse off all the inactivity in order to ease your pain. Better to settle this stuff now before it gets even more out of hand.?

I just noticed this thread, and I hope this didn't start over my win on the SMN horn. I DC'd and when i popped back on I figured it was more important to keep my party alive rather than immediately get my comment back up since we were in the middle of a pull. The horn dropped like 3 min after I got back online. I tried to prioritize, but if it was the wrong decision I will correct it in the future and be sure to get my comment back up before any other action.

I really enjoy going to dynamis with DX because I think you guys are fun and I think your point system is very fair.

On a side note, I noticed the points for the last run has not been added to the list, at least to mine. (Bastok)

See you on Wednesday.

It had nothing to do with you Zeo. If people DC there is certainly slack room there, the issue is more that at times people may lot items for a job they are not on, and how does the entire LS know they have that job levelled without seeing it in their comment?

People complain a bit about needing to put *ALL* their 60+ jobs in their seacom, this is just to say that if people plan to lot for any job, then they should place it in their seacom so that everyone knows they can.

Has nothing to do with any one specific person by any means.

lol no zeo it wasn't you. I don't remember if I was even thinking of anyone specific. There was a big swell of people that night without comments and a couple of them won but my post was about the trend in general more then anyone specific.

OK I just wanted to make sure I wasn't causing a problem. I really like going to Dynamis with DX.

Has anyone lately even been caught lotting a job they don't have?

Good thing I'm not in a position to get whiney tells about everyone who wins a lot for armor, I'd probably slap them around and tell them to move out of their parent's basement and get a life. Unless tehy know the person is too low it's a ridiculous waste of sackholder time and attention.

It would seem to me requiring someone with 4 or more points to submit all jobs and post them in the points section would make sense, then if anyone wants to know tell them to alt tab and check themselves rather than being a nuissance.

Easier than constantly policing comments, and rechecking dc's and changes. Posting artifact or money when you sign up on the forums is a good way to keep it easy too. It's pretty easy to figure out what you're going to lot when you sign up to go to a zone.

It would allow the frequent use of the reply, "Shut up and check the website" which I would would generally prefer were I the one being asked the questions.

dont mean to sound rude, but whats the big deal with comments regarding what jobs the person has?

Since you don't declare which AF you're lotting, you gotta at least list what jobs you have..kinda as an alternative to declaring one job. At least, that's what I thought anyways :o

That might not be a bad idea. Time-consuming, but probably worth it.

  • Not everyone has access to the forums, especially during a run.
  • It's additional work for Sass and Garr to keep a list of everyone's jobs, and they have enough to do as it is.
  • It would never be completely up to date. People are xp'ing all the time and not everyone would remember to update their post when they ding 60/75 in a job.
  • Some people switch between lotting 100s/AF2 depending on the zone, so everyone is going to have to have some kind of comment anyway.
  • The current comment system works fine. It's simple, everyone can see it, and party leaders can nag everyone to set them so it's no extra work for Garret.

Main reason I see it would be beneficial would be as a safeguard in case someone DC's and loses comment, forgets to set it, etc...could prevent some drama but yeah, it would be a LOT of work given the number of DX'ers out there.

Lol this thread still going :D

Set comment, end of thread.

No. It is more that other people on the run may not know what jobs a person has levelled, and it is annoying to get tells going, "Does so & so have that levelled?" during a run while trying to move forward.

Simply to stress the importance of setting a comment, which takes 1 minute, so that other people on the can easily check it to see what items you are capable of lotting so that organizers don't have to deal with the headache of 'checking' for them.
