No comment - No lotting

imo we really need to start enforcing this. We had two people win AF with no comments tonight. One of them lost the comment on a DC but the other never had a comment up to begin with looking at Sass's picture for attendance.

While I don't really like penalizing people who get DC'ed, its not too tough to reset a comment and the people who do follow the rules shouldn't be penalized either by losing out on AF.

Eticket does have a point. I typically try to be lenient, primarily because I tend to know what people lot, but that's obviously not true of everyone there. The reason I do ask that people put all jobs 60+ in comment if they are lotting AF2 is because when people don't I get *A LOT* of tells when they lot something. It really gets rid of a lot of lotting headaches to just be clear about what you have, it may seem somewhat silly but it really only takes a minute to set up your comment, and considering it takes at least 30-45 minutes to organize a run I think people can take some seconds during that time to do it.

A easy solution would be to make party leaders check their member comments.

I actually thought about this last night. I think the simplest way to enforce it would be to withold the glass until a /seacom gets posted. That would help alleviate the issues from DCs since you'd know the leader checked already.

The problem with doing something like that Eticket is that it's *VERY* important for people to get in right away. Once the hourglass has been traded it is a waste of time to be sitting outside, on a large run it can alreayd take 5 minutes for everyone to enter. At that point I simply want people in & fighting so we can get moving, not twiddling their thumbs outside, whatever the reason.

Yeah, I realized it probably wasn't practical. At the same time, from party formation to enter there's usually about 15 to 20 minutes of downtime.

Make people bazaar their hourglasses for 1 gil. If someone is lotting with no search comment, buy their hourglass so they get exited from the zone.

People will get the message that they need search comments pretty quick.

Ok, I'm not totally serious about that. But on a side note that's a good way to prevent AF from being lost at the end due to people being afk / not passing. If someone is afk or dead, buy their glass.

LOL!

That's the same as dropping your Hourglass, that would be funny as shit.

Yes, it does :) No hourglass = you get booted from the zone. Buy someone's hourglass = they don't have an hourglass.

dude... that is such an awesome idea. lmao

of course someone who lost a lot would inevitably buy out the person above them.

The one thing I like about the idea is that instead of just BLMs D2ing each other for armor, now it can be everyone! ^_~

Yeah, it could be abused, but not much more easily than someone with a stopwatch can abuse the timing of treasure auto-distribution to ninja-lot something they shouldn't 15 seconds before it goes to the high bidder.

Well, despite its potential for abuse, it's pretty easy to implement a ZERO STRIKES system of DynamisX banning if it's abused. It's not like people won't know who bought their hourglass if they're winning something legitly.

I'd lol when a gilfinder picks up a glass someone bazaared before entering and all hell breaks loose.

Honestly I think if people start getting penalized for NOT having a comment (i.e. They can't lot), I think they will start getting the message. People can force d/c rather easily in an attempt to hide w/e they are lotting; I've seen it done in other dynamis shells. It's very easy for someone to go in to a run lotting AF2, "d/c" and come back to lot on the 100 that just dropped because they changed their mind. I understand the desire to get in on time and start fighting but, if people don't set comments and subsequently cant lot, I'm sure they will get the idea very very quickly and time setting comments will no longer be a concern. :D

Well usually party leaders do check and ride their party member for comments, but yea not every party leader is 100% on that, and some ppl just don't seem to understand the importance of putting your jobs in if lotting AF, or atleast the AF you want. It really shouldn't be half the problem it is considering the fact that it is spammed to make comments well before entry. Guess some ppl just don't get reading the LS eh? Either way I do agree that we need to enforce the no comment no lot thing, as it usually only happens with newer ppl that I've seen.

Sneaky tarus would bazaar one hourglass but make a 2nd one as a backup :bluewink:

On the /seacom thing, I always check and screenshot my pt's comments if I'm a leader, and harass anyone that doesn't have a comment into making one. It only takes a few seconds and yea it can save alot of headaches later.

Pt leaders should also be reminding people to re-set comments when they get re-invited from DC, but that can be easy to forget.
