I recently got a PS5 and started the free trial. I'm probably like 3 weeks in. I just finished ARR but haven't started the quests in HW yet. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and buy the game. I was thinking to play as much through the free trial before buying, but being carried capped at 300k gil and having no access to MB or retainers kind of sucks. My question about this is if it's puts you far behind by being capped at 300k gil for long instead of gaining the gil from quests and from selling stuff?
So, it seems like there's a whole lot of stuff to do. I'm not super interested in gathering or crafting, but I'll do it if it's needed for end game crafting stuff. I think what I'll probably want to get into is some sort of raiding. Most likely into some of the harder content. What's the best path for this? I'm guessing that I need to get through the whole MSQ and get jobs max leveled. It doesn't seem like you really need to worry much about gear on the way up except to buy the stuff you can get with poetics. Does this sound correct?
I suppose another reason to get out of the free trial is to be able to possibly find a free company where I can have a group of like minded people to be able to get some guidance and have a group to play with. I enjoy the social aspect to these games and I've found it a little boring to always be playing solo and just running dungeons with random pugs all the time.
I guess also, I'm wondering what's the best path to get further along towards the end game starting fresh with no experience playing before.
