I haven't played an MMO in quite a few years but my friends convinced me to try FFXIV.
For some reason I decided to play tank to begin with, and I'm ALWAYS nervous entering a new dungeon for the first time.
Tonight I finished ARR and shout out to my favorite community experience so far:
As we were in the cutscene for the Nero tol Scaeva fight in The Praetorium, one of our DPS said, "Tank do you know how to take the boss for walkies?" Which is still cracking me up.
I shared that I was brand new and they welcomed me and explained that by running away when he initiated his tank buster, you can get him to chase you until it hits which I proceeded to do to great and hilarious effect.
This was one of the best random moments I've had in a dungeon so far, but overall the wholesomeness and kindness with which the experienced players have greeted me has made my experience incredibly enjoyable. Thank you to this wonderful community I'm excited to continue this experience.
