Walk with me here.

Every expansion we get new jobs, but we really lack tanks and healers. DPS jobs end up being the majority of what we train up. I have a suggestion for a strong healer role: acupuncturist. It can even be a sister job to ninja with the manipulation of Qi. Acupuncturist can mainly be a buffing/healing class and there is a lot of potential with how diverse acupuncture can be. Here are some of my thoughts:

Your trainer can be blind: in Japan, more than half of the working acupuncturists are blind, they feel qi (or Ki in Japan) so job quests, if there are any, can take a really interesting route.

Actions: there are a lot of really cool techniques in acupuncture that have names liks Burning the Mountain (supplementing and can be healing), or Cooling the Sky (draining, can be a boss/enemy debuff), Wagging the Tail of the Dragon (changes Qi direction, can be a multiple person heal), Chasing the Tiger's Tail (draining, can be another debuff, maybe grabbing/paralyzing), 4 horsemen (this could be a damage move), etc. There are literally so many options to expand this class in terms of actions and specializes. Meditations, Tai Chi, or Qi Gong could all be personal shields as well.

Weapons: you can start out with a simple kit of just stainless steel needles. Traditionally in earlier eras though (so from Acupuncture classics) physicians used a variety of 9 needles for different things. As you level up, needles can become more refined and even change metals, like steel, silver, and golden needles. You can carry them in a satchel.

This is a job that really crosses over the ancient and the modern and I think could hold a really unique place, without basically rebranding or shirking another job (for example I've seen complaints about DPS jobs being essentially copied over, or other DPS jobs getting less attention than needed due to new ones)
