I was subbed to ffxiv for 5 years then had to take a break in feb 2025. I didn't know how long it would be. It ended up being 5 months. Obviously, my house was demolished. I had to accept that. After logging back in, after 5 mo., I then read you have 35 days after demolition to collect your things. Add that to 45 days of absence to demolish a house, that's 80 days total before you lose all housing items. Less than 3 months for years of collecting items. The part I feel needs to be changed, at minimum, is the handling of the Mog Station items. At the very least, respect our optional store purchases that are bought with real life currency. Allow us to claim those for much longer than 2.6 months. I say a year. Or a simple mathematical equation based on total number of days subbed. Or allow a free 3-hour login window that starts upon login where we can move our items to a retainer. Something other than sub 3 months. It feels like a slap in the face.
