Guild Wars 3 looking real good so far, though of course don't forget that Ashes of Creation was a thing.

They are excited to go back to this time because the written lore is minimal but sets up all the foundational building blocks for the entire franchise.
They picked Orr because it was a great location to introduce new players that they are welcome and should come play the game because everyone is on equal terms with the lore. You didn't need to play GW2 for 15 years to understand the story.
When we play we get to see the "Spirits and some of the gods that live in Orr" as a foundation for the game's story
Colin expressed that ArenaNet likes to make games that solve player problems, GW1 for no sub, GW2 for a giant open world MMO with no conflict and easy to play together. The genre of MMOs is stagnant and they feel they can challenge this problem and innovate. They are going to "fearlessly charge forward and hope people love them and we'll find out over the next couple of years."

Inspired by single player and multiplayer RPGs for the combat system. Continued stress on the game being an MMO.
GuildWars 3 no subscription fee and horizontal progression being wrapped into the game. They will respect your time and if you love it "we'll have other stuff you can buy from us in the future", they are not going to hold players hostage. Critiqued battle passes in the industry.
