So lately I've noticed a strange pattern of botting. I was wondering if anyone else noticed it too.
On almost every server (at least the ones I've checked) there are bots selling Rroneek Horns, Barreltender Horns, and Mount Tokens. Sometimes they will sell other things like Royal Magicked Carpet and Shadowhunter Chic Hairstyle.
They all have the same MO, mainly for Rroneek/Barreltender posting:
- Will list price as X,888,888 (X can be any number but is usually 8 or 10) if there's no other listing.
- Will undercut others by 10 gil, no matter the price. Also, it doesn't matter what time it is, they will undercut you.
- Retainers are always from Limsa.
- All have very "human-like" names (I don't know how to describe it lmao)
When I realized that I was up against a bot, I decide to mess with it by listing my Rroneek Horn all over the place. Every time, without fail, they would undercut by 10.
For example:
1. List mine as 20mil, they undercut by 10
2. Drop price to 9mil, they undercut by 10
3. Re-price to 14mil, they undercut by 10
A real person trying to undercut another wouldn't keep bouncing back and forth with another person who is absurdly pricing an item that no one would buy it at.
