I’m not trying to start a witch hunt or name anyone, so I’m keeping details vague, but there’s a mentor on my home world who hangs around the Gridania aetheryte a lot and basically waits for sprouts to return after dying. When they respawn , he’ll laugh emote at them and say stuff like “lol sit noob” or similar. He says he's just doing some light hazing/teasing, but it makes me uncomfortable seeing it happen. It just seems so cruel and hurtful.
Maybe I’m being dramatic, but it honestly rubs me the wrong way. Sprouts are still learning, and dying in public can already be extremely embarrassing for a lot of people.
Is there any way to report this specifically as misuse of mentor status? FFXIV has always felt like one of the more welcoming communities to me, and I’d hate for someone’s first experience to be getting laughed at by the exact kind of player who’s supposed to be helping them.
