Started playing a few months ago, probably around 60% of the way through ARR (just retrieved Cid’s airship) and I consistently hear people say that ARR is pretty slow and lackluster and the expansions are where the good stuff is.
I have been having a ton of fun with ARR, so knowing this is considered the weakest part of the game has me very much looking forward to what comes next.
I presume the story improves since I hear ARR is mostly setup for what comes next, but what other ways does it get better? Are there more combat changes than just the new abilities at higher levels? Are the quests more interesting and less fetch-quest/talk to a guy then talk to another guy?
Very excited for all of it regardless
