I just called someone to OFFER THEM A SPOT AT A WORLD PROG STATIC...
...and he answered:
"Hey, I'm lifting weights what's up?"
Not "Hello."
Not "Hi, this is ___."
Straight workout energy.
I finished the conversation professionally... but afterward I sat there thinking:
WAIT.
Is this the new normal?
Because if it were me?
I would've answered the phone, turned my noise cancellation on MAX, slowed my breathing,
and tried to sound like I was in focus, hitting a striking dummy practicing my rotation somewhere.
But maybe that's the difference between old-school raiding culture and today's version of "authenticity."
People are taking static interviews in cars.
Answering recruiter calls at the gym.
Responding to DMs from the grocery store line.
Work and real life have completely merged.
And now I genuinely want to know:
If you got an important call from a world prog static while working out...
Would you:
A. Let it go to voicemail
B. Answer professionally anyway
C. Hit them with "I'm lifting weights what's up?"
