I've been leveling up all my Jobs, trying to get everything to 100 before EC comes out, and between playing the old Job quests from previous expansions and watching a couple youtube videos that mentioned the Class Order Halls from WoW Legion, I've just really missed that kind of Job-specific content in recent expansions.
My favourite part of a lot of RPG's is when they make specific references to details about my custom character. Even just mentioning my chosen class brings a smile to my face. Having a small questline tailored to the fantasy of each Job is a lot of fun to play through and I hope that CBU3 can devote the resources to bringing them back in the future.
Role quests just aren't the same. Wrapping up multiple jobs into a role means that the quest can't really explore their specific fantasy. I main Reaper, and being lumped into melee DPS just isn't the same as a quest exploring what it means to be a Reaper and meeting other Reaper NPCs.
I realize that with how many jobs there are now this would be a significant investment, especially considering many players will only see the content for their main Job, but I still think the return of Job quests (even just for a one-off expansion like Legion's Order Halls) would be worth it.
Obviously it's way too late for EC's release. I'm not saying I expect this any time soon. But if CBU3 is currently starting their planning phase for 9.0 then I just wanted to put this out there for them to hopefully see and consider.
