To preface this, I'm returning to ffxiv on a new account. I only dabbled in ffxiv on console, like, 4 years ago. Anyway, my friends and I were having a discussion about questing and leveling. I have a lot of time on my hands whereas my friends don't have as much time as I do. So, when we play, they tend to grind out story and do dungeon runs, while I don't skip ANYTHING. I dive headlong into every quest I can get my hands on. I dabble in leveling every class that I'm interested in and have plans on leveling everything up in the future to all 100s (I know that's going to take a lot of time, but I'm paying for the game, so I'll get my money's worth of gameplay.)
All of this basically led to the disagreement of "what's worth doing." Basic side quests don't give you much xp, but you have to do the storyline quests to get anything done/unlocked in-game. Plus leveling up more than one or two classes tends to take a loottttt of time. So our differences in playstyles made me curious:
What do you guys think is worth the time in ffxiv? Are you the kind of player that is a die-hard completionist, or are you the type of player that tends to level up what's necessary, do the main quest, and then spend most of the time in dungeons? Do you spend a lot of time crafting or using marketplace? Do you hang out in town most of the day and chat? Etc.
Edit: I'm definitely going to just play how I want to play and all, but I was curious about other people's playstyles and thought the discussion would be fun lol
