Ok so here goes. This is my last resort before I completely lose my mind from this. This issue began a little over a year ago. I built a new PC and went from a 12700k/4080 build to a 9800x3d and the same 4080. All other parts were new. On FF14 I play with my frames capped at 120 in 4k and all other settings are the same from the old PC to the new PC minus some graphics settings getting turned up due to better PC.
Ok so now the issue. Ever since I made this change I get a strange frame hitching or skipping type thing where it’s like I skip a frame and my FPS will drop from 120 to 104 for pretty much a second and then it goes back to normal. It’s completely random and it can happen multiple times in 10 minutes or I can go an hour and it never happens.
During all the research that I have done into this I’ve found that FF14 can be very finicky with USB inputs and people have had these types of issues due to controllers being plugged in. I have not had a controller plugged in at all so that’s not the issue. I have also tried running the game with iCue shut down and the issue persists. Basically I have tried literally everything that I can think of at this point and am wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen to them and what the cause was. The only ideas that I have left is I wonder if my Wooting keyboard could be the culprit I switched to HE keyboards around the same time that this started but I’ve used a few different ones during that time. Oh and during the course of the last year I have also done a complete fresh Windows install and the issue persists.
Im open to any ideas that someone has and sorry for the wall of text. It’s in no way unplayable but just very annoying since I can’t figure it out.
