The forum message length is just plain too short these days, full stop.
Especially in GD, we have a lot of fast-moving lengthy discussions in which one would generally like to reply to several people during a forum visit. 3000 characters is extremely frequently too short to fit all of the replies into one message without needing to resort to editing after the fact to get around the limit, especially considering that quoting text for context, as well as all related markup, counts towards this limit. (The alternative is to reply to messages separately which results in spammy double-or-more posting)
It is less even than the Discord Nitro message length limit and thus makes especially little sense (forum platforms have naturally been the place for longer form posts, why have a shorter limit than a fast paced chat platform?).
I understand it might not be as noticeable for Japanese posters, as their language structure tends to be more character length efficient (due to constructs such as full-syllable characters that include what would be two or more letters in Western scripts) so perhaps the limit is not hit as often there, but the English forums really need a longer limit.
Please consider expanding the limit, even one or two thousand more characters would greatly reduce the need for edits in busy threads.
