There's almost nothing in either North Horn or the second Forked Tower (normal) that makes use of the fact this is a Field Operation zone with a large amount of people involved. No split parties, no puzzles to communicate through. No incentive to be social. Just a solo-able dungeon that can have 48 people if you want.
Ironically enough, because the extreme version of FT: M has much less scope for one person causing full party wipes compared to FT: B, it would have functioned much better as the only difficulty. Instead, it is now locked away in a private instance - and while this protection from snipers is appreciated for those running in prepared groups, it's killing one of the core parts of this content - the social aspect.
And it's not impossible to have approachable & challenging content that encourages and rewards being social. Castrum and Dalriada are fantastic examples of how this can be done (saving prisoners in Castrum, corridors in Dalriada). You were actively rewarded with better loot, just for being social and collaborating with each other. They have the template there. Instead of using it, they just made whatever this is supposed to be.
There's a word that sounds similar to forked that would sum up my feelings about Field Operation content this expansion.
