As someone who's never commissioned an artist (but really wants to rn!), and with so much differing info out there, what do you feel like should be submitted to artists?
I know you should submit a character reference sheet, but how detailed? Should you include a character rundown like personality/"vibe"/etc? Are artists generally "open" to outfits/poses that you aren't exactly able to pose in game due to limitations?
I guess I'm asking... how much info/pics should one provide at the minimum and/or maximum to make sure a commission with an artist goes smoothly, so you're not stressing both parties out? What did you personally not think about or miss until after a commission that you regret and now converse with the artist about? Do's and dont's?
This is a genuine, open-ended question to gain some insight into the whole process from those who commission on the regular. I'd hate to commission someone and not know where to start and waste their time.
