Let’s start with post ShB. It was great, I was thinking things couldn’t get that much higher after our battle with Emet-Selch, that was until Elidibus became a Zenos victim and decided to plot his next evil plan in the first. The whole warrior of light plot line was amazing, it also revealed so much more. Most emotional I’ve gotten? When we return to Amaurot and find what Emet-Selch left behind. HE DID IT ON PURPOSE! It’s sad that he most likely went into the fight knowing the WoL will pull through, he scattered the memory crystals on his path to the capitol and left the most important crystal to us! Then there’s him showing up one last time at the fight with Elidibus!
Then there’s what happened in the empire, first of all, it was so cool playing as Estinien and fighting with Gaius. Second of all, Zenos what the hell! Not even a moment after taking back his body he starts using Ascian magicks, genuinely concerned about fighting this dude again. It’s really unfortunate we don’t get to go see more of Garlemald when it isn’t in ruins. Then there is Fandaniel, kinda wished we didn’t have to kill Elidibus because it unleashed this guy upon the world, and house Brutus is insane trusting a supposed to be dead guy with their money. Tho we did end up doing something with Tiamat, was wondering when they’d bring up the ancient great wyrm just sitting there in Asys Lla for around two whole expansions. Atleast something good that’s come of all this is the cure for tempering bringing Ga Bu back, and the peace with the beast tribes. The Lunar primal fights were great as well.
The side quest with Gaius was really fun tho, the fights were interesting tho I’m disappointed we only got to use the G warrior once, and who knew Gaius had a dad side to him. I also now know why Lucia does not miss her sister much, Livia was REAL creepy and frankly I don’t think Gaius really knew or really cared at that point in his life. One last thing about the weapon quests, Varro can go rest in hell, dudes a horrible person, he’s like Gaius’s own personal Nero and that is if Nero was a million times worse. The Eden raids were also amazing, the boss fights are pretty fun and I support Ryne and Gaia(even if it leaves poor Mitron single).
Just started Endwalker and everyday I consider the twins a blessing that they are who they are now despite being raised by such a man that is Fourchenault. Louisoix must be so disappointed in his own son and Fourchenault is lucky he’s not around anymore. In general Sharlayan is beautiful, my only issue is that the place is rather small. All the Eorzean city states felt large, especially with them having two separate areas making them up. But it’s not like SE couldn’t get it right, the Crystarium due to its sheer size of buildings and amount of stairs and distance between things, it felt like the large city it is stated to be. The Sharlayan colony felt more like a city than old Sharlayan itself.
