I have been using a ps4 controller on pc (steam ver) since ARR. Over the years I have broken remotes and have been changing parts between them to keep using the "same" controller but that's finally no longer an option because of the parts that have broken and I'm honestly tired of just fixing the controller. Couldn't find a good deal for a PS4 Remote, saw PS5 Remotes were cheaper. Don't really like the idea of changing controllers but it's either buy a refurbished PS4 controller for the exact same price as a brand new PS5 controller or spend a bit more money for another ps4 controller. Mainly here to ask if anyone knows if the PS5 controller works on Final Fantasy XIV (Steam ver) without outside programs needing to be downloaded? look it up myself and I found conflicting information sometimes people saying if you are running the game on XIV launcher you need outside programs for it to work some saying steam version doesn't need outside programs but only in windows 10 you need a driver for windows 11 so I just decided to make a post myself to see if someone knows.
tldr : Does the PS5 controller work on Final Fantasy XIV (Steam ver) without outside programs needing to be downloaded? using windows 11 if that changes anything.
