| Lot of really interesting things in here. There is a lot of comments about changes, from patterns to announcements to gameplay implementation. There's a brief comment about the Enuo trial being a two-totem fight where he kinda hints at the idea that the totem system and several other gameplay systems might be appearing for the last time in 7.5. Many details about BST, nothing too crazy. Mainly the explanation that as you level from 1-50 you get access to normal skills and the 2nd and 3rd beast whistle, and you do something like active switching between your three beasts to change combo routes and actions available, plus details on the roguelike mode. Implies you should not be looking at existing patterns in regards to the unannounced Ultimate. The FanFest keynotes will be shifting from the traditional formula and are not necessarily just "the next expansion" but more "the longterm future of Final Fantasy XIV", they want to be very open with the direction the game will be going in both the immediate and distant future plans. He thinks it would take about five hours to cover everything, from stories to game mechanics, so NA FanFest will be the presentation of the games overall direction with EU and JP will be diving more into specific elements and details. This is on top of "meeting 100% of the normal expectations" eg expansion, jobs, etc etc presumably. The interviewer compares all the things hes hinting at to a "second rebirth", or another ARR. Yoshi-P says that when you think of that, it's heavily associated with the brand new client and so on, so he wouldn't make a *direct* comparison to ARR himself but there are some similarities in the general idea. Taken overall it looks like we might be seeing a really major shift beginning with tomorrows LL and next weeks Keynote. submitted by /u/RablaAndrews [link] [comments] |
