This an immediate reaction, but to be fair, this is a big deception for me.
I didn't care about the Nier Raids story, the FFXI storylines flew miles over my head (don't get wrong the fight themselves are fine).
We lost the trial series,
Then raid alliances became the place to be about other games, collabs barely brought anything to the FFXIV world (contrary to inspired by other FF but still adding to the FFXIV lore like the Warring triad raids or the weapons raids).
Now the normal Raids also go that way too
and we have no new about exploration zones (after the second fanfest keynote, we can begin there won't be one, and they will put that in normal zones (which is not bad gameplay wise, but this feels like a way to remove another storyline).
The only FFXIV storyline left in FFXIV is the MSQ. I'm not against those collaboration, but not at the detriment of FFXIV.
One of the appeal of MMO is the immersion in other worlds. But you continue to treat that world like a problem.
