Broken account Square Enix ID is "skmeower" and is connected to my main Nintendo account and is the main problem here...
One of my Nintendo Switch 2 free trial accounts has a 90002 disconnect issue consistently. Attempting to begin the first MSQ solo duty results in a 90002 error every single time. This problem persists on this account across servers, times of day, and across data centers. Both the Nintendo and Square Enix FFXIV free trial account are NA region. Also, this issue occurs when attempting to server hop using the main Aetherite in town.
I can ALSO confirm that it's not a hardware or maybe even a software issue on my two separate switch 2 devices - it's gotta be something on Square's account bug end?
I have successfully been able to connect to these instance servers with other free trial accounts linked to other Nintendo accounts on the exact same hardware and fon the exact same FFXIV servers/data centers. The instance server connects perfectly fine across TWO Switch 2's on the same home network. BUT my main account above is still experiencing this issue with no end in sight.
Something about my first account (which is now "permanently" linked to my Nintendo account) is just borked and does not like connecting to the instance server(s) it seems or maybe the characters created on this account are just not allowed to "leave" their home server. This same account can't progress the MSQ past the third quest or so, and it is effectively useless now.
Apart from attempting to unlink the current FFXIV free trial account from my main Nintendo account (via a form submission and more back-and-forth), AND trying a brand new FFXIV free trial account swap, I'm not sure what else I can do here.
